In business, there are many things you might consider investing in, but one of the most important things you can invest in is yourself.
Far from being selfish, taking the time to look after yourself allows you to be the best version of yourself that you can be, whether that’s a better parent, a better worker or a better friend.
Sometimes it feels as though we have 25 hours worth of things demanded of us and only 24 hours in the day. With a demand this high, how can we possibly make sure we take the time to look after ourselves?
It’s as simple as putting together a self-care kit.
A self-care kit is a little collection of things you can bring out and use when you’re having a tough day, feeling stressed out or just need a few moments to yourself.
You might like to collate these items into a pretty box to make your self-care experience feel extra special, as well as keeping the items in one place.
To get you started, here are ten things you might like to include in your kit:
1: Bath bombs
There is nothing quite like laying down in a nice bubble bath after a hard day of work. Spoil yourself with a luxurious bath bomb that will envelop you in sweet, calming bubbles and watch your stress melt away.
2: Scented candle
Add some ambient light to your bubble bath by lighting a candle. No matter the scent, the soft light will help create a calm, peaceful atmosphere.
3: Mindfulness colouring book and pencils
Colouring is an excellent way to really be in the moment and your worries will fade away as you focus on colouring the image in front of you.
You can find a variety of reasonably priced colouring books for adults in supermarkets, book shops and department stores.
4: Essential oils
Look for oils known for their relaxing properties, such as lavender, and blends that include chamomile.
Place a few drops in an oil burner or look for essential oil room sprays you can spritz around the room without a fuss and enjoy the benefits of their calming effects.
5: Comfy socks
Never underestimate the comforting feeling of slipping tired feet into a nice, luxuriously fluffy pair of socks.

Don’t feel as though you have to use everything in your kit all at once!
